Former UFC Welterweight Champion Cody Garbrandt has announced that he will face Josh Thompson in the main event of the UFC’s upcoming FOX 6 event.
Garbrandt was supposed to face a tough opponent when he fought against fellow welterweights Anthony Perosh and Travis Browne, but he ended up getting beaten by Perosh, who was forced to pull out of the bout.
It’s been a difficult few months for Garbrandts career as he’s had a lot of injuries and has lost to several of the top welterunners in the game, including Matt Mitrione, Demian Maia, and Fabricio Werdum.
However, he did come through with a victory over Anthony Perosso and now he’ll be facing the man who he defeated in the second round of their title fight, Josh Thomson.
It’s hard to see Garbrand, who had a good fight against Josh Thomson, getting knocked out by Thomson.
Thompson’s only loss to Garbrand was to Robbie Lawler in March of this year, so he should be more than capable of beating Garbrand.
It seems like the right time for Garbrands return to action, but we’ll have to wait and see if Garbrands career is a success or not.
